One of the goals of any Village is to help its members "age in place", to stay as healthy and active as possible without moving to a conventional retirement community. Our Village has run several workshops on the idea of Universal Design, which means housing that works for young, old, and impaired residents.

Also in the works are efforts in both the Washington Area Village Exchange and the DC Government (Rob Fleming represents Villages on the Task Force) to understand and identify how the new Digital Voice Assistants (such as Alexa, Google Home, Siri and others) can help us control our homes and enhance our lives without requiring advanced computer skills.
